City of Windhoek shines at 2017 Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair

The City of Windhoek has scooped the award of Best Exhibitor Regional / Local Authority Council at the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair 2017.

The City of Windhoek participated in the 2017 Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair under the theme: Transforming towards a SMART and Caring City by 2022, this is a befitting theme because CoW is undertaking a transformational journey towards a SMART City Concept as per its newly launched Transformational Strategic Plan 2017-2022.

Being the capital city, Windhoek has an obligation to impacts and share its expertise with other towns around the country as well as other cities around the globe, as it has signed various Cooperation Agreements on various areas that need to be strengthened. It thus important, that we utilise all possible platforms within our reach to educate our clients, potential clients, investors and tourists about the opportunities Windhoek has to offer. Windhoek being strategically located at the center of Namibia is not only a gateway to endless opportunities, but it offers amongst others economic and social opportunities that needs to be explored.

The Transformational Strategic Plan 2017 -2022 embraces the spirit of change regarding the City’s practices, process, governance, performance, technology and human capital capabilities. Our roadmap for the next five years is the culmination of extensive internal and external stakeholder consultations, organisational assessments and the current financial constraints and customer expectations; and to enhance the quality of life for all our people by rendering efficient and effective municipal services.
