Letshego Bank awards top achievers

Letshego Bank Namibia handed over two floating trophies and cash prices to the value of N$30 000 at the recently held 2017 NSSC (Grade 12) and JSC (Grade 10) prize giving at the Namcol head office in Windhoek.



Ohangwena and Kavango East regions each received a floating trophy for being the overall best region schools in the NSSC ordinary level (Grade 12) mathematics and physical science. The purpose of the award is to encourage the regions to constantly improve the standards of subjects targeted in the National Development Plan 5.

The two government schools that have shown the most improvement in the teaching of NSSC ordinary level mathematics and physical science, each received N$10 000, which should be ploughed back into the teaching of these subjects. Putuavanga Secondary School from Kunene region moved 88 places up from 121 to 33 for ordinary level mathematics and C //Oaseb Secondary School from Hardap region improved from 139 to 65 moving 74 places up for ordinary level physical science.

Letshego handed over two investment accounts, worth N$5 000 each to the overall best NSSCH full-time candidate, Larisa Oosthuizen, from Windhoek High School and Muupa Kabajani from ST Boniface College for the overall best performer in the NSSCO full-time category.

During the handover ceremony the chief executive officer Ester Kali stated “Education is key to the development of our country and Letshego's brand promise, “Let's Improve Life” resonates our commitment towards sustainable development and improving the lives of our communities through supporting initiatives such as this”
